CrumbBook

Privacy Policy

Effective date: September 25, 2026

CrumbBook is a personal recipe app that works offline. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app processes and where it is kept.

Information we collect

CrumbBook does not require an account and does not ask for your name, email address, phone number, contacts, or location.

Your recipes, categories, photos, cooking notes, kitchen notes, timers, and settings are stored only on your device. We have no access to them.

If you send us a support message, we receive the text of that message and whatever you choose to include in it, so that we can respond.

Camera, photos, and notifications

The camera and your photo library are used only when you choose to add a photo to a recipe. The selected photo is resized, stripped of location and other metadata, and saved inside the app on your device.

Notifications are used only to tell you that a cooking timer has finished. They are scheduled on your device and are not sent through our servers.

Backups

You can export a backup file with your recipes and photos to move them to a new phone. The file is created on your device and goes only where you send it. It is not encrypted, so keep it somewhere safe.

Third-party services

CrumbBook works fully offline and does not use analytics, advertising, or tracking services. It does not send your data to any server.

The app is distributed through the Apple App Store and Google Play under their own privacy policies.

Children

CrumbBook is intended for a general audience. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Data retention and deletion

Because your data is stored locally, deleting a recipe removes it from the device, and deleting the app removes everything it stored. Messages sent to our support email are kept only as long as needed to respond.
